1. Introduce yourself

I come from China. I am graduated from China University of Petroleum, where I got my master degree and bachelor degree. Now, I am a PhD student at Aalborg University and involved in the Harmony project.

2. For how long have you been in Denmark?

I arrived here at 25 October and this is the first time I visit to Denmark.

3. What is your first expressions of Denmark and how do you perceive the Danes (cultural)

Denmark is a country full of romantic fairytale color. I think Danes are very nice and friendly. They are always willing to help others.

4. How did you hear about Harmony?

I firstly heard about this project on the ET department website and I knew more about it from Xiongfei.

5. Why did you choose to apply – why do you think Harmony was interesting?

The large scale expansion of power electronics usage changes the characteristic of the power system and results in a large risk of instability in the power system. Harmony airms to resolving these realistic problems. It is a very practical and useful project and also I am interested in solving practical problems. This is the reason why I choose to apply.

6. What are you expecting of Harmony at a personal as well as a professional level?

I am happy to get the opportunity to participate in the harmony project. I hope to contribute to the project in the next three years.

I come from China University of Petroleum and I know that there is also an urgent need to develop effective measures to address the power quality and stability problems of the offshore oil fields power system in order to ensure the sage operation of the platforms. The Harmony project will also contribute a lot to solving these problems.

7. Is Aalborg University different compared to where you have worked previously? If yes – how?

I think one difference is that AAU has close collaborations with industries and most of the project focus on solving practical problems.
