Minghui Lu heard about this project from Xiongfei Wang and Prof Frede Blaabjerg, also from the university website.

5. Why did you choose to apply – why do you think Harmony was interesting?

The reason why I choose this Harmony Project is that it is closely related to practical problem in industry, also it searches approach to solve those problem. Up to now, there are still many instability factors which influence the reliability of utility grid. That is why that we should study it more and make solutions. Obviously, it will be a challenge.

6. What are you expecting of Harmony at a personal as well as a professional level?

Participation in the Harmony project may be a great opportunity to improve my professional knowledge network and practical skill. Not only that the expectations are very high concerning the outcome of each project, but the individual development is also relevant. Also, working with international colleagues is incredible experience, meantime, is very helpful to further personal development.

7. Is Aalborg University different compared to where you have worked previously? If yes – how?

Yes. My previous university is Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). In general, both HUST and Aalborg University (AAU) are research institutes. However, there are still some differences between them, for instance, experimental apparatus in AAU are more complete and updated. Professors here are more concerned about their students.
