1. Introduce yourself

I come from China, and got my BSc and MSc in China University of Mining & Tech, Xuzhou, China. I joined Harmony after I got my MSc and now I am a PhD student at the department of energy. In my spare time, I like jogging, ping-pang ball and traveling.

2. For how long have you been in Denmark?

I arrived at Aalborg in October , 2014, and it is the first time I come to this country

3. What is your first expressions of Denmark and how do you perceive the Danes (cultural)

Denmark is a country with slower life pace compared with China. People here are very friendly and they are willing to offer help when needed.

4. How did you hear about Harmony?

Some papers by the group members of the project and the website of Aalborg University.

5. Why did you choose to apply – why do you think Harmony was interesting?

First, the project aims to solve the problems which I have encounter in my research. Second, the outcome of the project will help to promote the use of green power, which will help to protect our environment. Finally, this project involves many different research areas, and I could learn a lot knowledge and research skills from others.

6. What are you expecting of Harmony at a personal as well as a professional level?

The project offers great opportunities to participate in the research that is closely related with industrial issues. I hope it will improve my ability of solving the practical problem in the industry field and enrich my background.

7. Is Aalborg University different compared to where you have worked previously? If yes – how?

AAU does not have very tall buildings, but the equipment in the lab is very advanced. Many companies have collaboration with ET and this offers great opportunities to relate the theoretical research with practical applications. Also the students here come from different countries around the world, so I can experience different cultures.
