Meet the PhD - Esmaeil Ebrahimzadeh

Esmaeil Ebrahimzadeh is the new PHD student in HARMONY. We have met Esmaeil to a talk about his initial experiences in Denmark and expectations.

1. Introduce yourself

"First of all, I want to say thank you for giving me an opportunity to talk with you about Harmony.
As you know, my name is Esmaeil Ebrahimzadeh. I’m from Iran. I was born in Esfahan which is a big city in the center of my country.

I’m hard working; therefore, I’m so busy. I can hardly make any free time. If I ever had free time, I would probably do many different things to fill my spare time, including playing sports, listening music, going out my friends, watching films and etcetera.

My educational background includes a M.Sc. degree in Power Engineering at the oldest and one of the most prestigious university in Iran, University of Tehran."

2. For how long have you been in Denmark?

"It is the first time that I have been to Denmark. I am living here from May, 2015."

3. What is your first expressions of Denmark and how do you perceive the Danes (cultural)

"Be like Denmark, the country of the happiest people in the world with high quality of life and a well work-life balance. However, I have to invest a lot of time on my research currently and lack of time to explore the country in-depth.

4. How did you hear about Harmony?

"I became aware of the Harmony Project through the PhD Positions webpage of the Aalborg University."

5. Why did you choose to apply – why do you think Harmony was interesting?

"I learned that the team members of Harmony are with excellent experience and theoretical skills in power electronics and power system, consequently I found that I can establish a rich theoretical foundation and gain significant experience about large-scale power electronics based power systems.

I also believe that my skills and experience present an excellent fit for the Harmony, and my background will enable me to contribute significantly towards Harmony objectives."

6. Is Aalborg University different compared to where you have worked previously? If yes – how?

"Yes, it’s kind of different. In the Aalborg University, I am not only gaining a great learning experience but also enhancing core skills such as communication, presentation, and teamwork."
